Mayor MacIsaac recognized in Speech to the House of Commons.

OTTAWA- Mike Wallace, MP for Burlington spoke in the House of Commons today and recognized the hard work and accomplishments of Burlington Mayor Robert MacIsaac.

The Mayor has announced he will not be seeking re-election this fall and Mr. Wallace described this as a “great loss for the community of Burlington”.

Mr. Wallace described Mayor MacIsaac “a true municipal leader in Burlington, in Ontario and in our Country. He has had nine very successful years as my mayor. He clearly understands the balance between a growth urban community and a City with more than half of its land mass being rural”.

Mike also highlighted a few of Mayor MacIsaac’s accomplishments while in office; “Mayor MacIsaac has pursued Smart Growth principals; formed a Mayor’s Transit Caucus and chaired Ontario’s Greenbelt Task Force. He established Team Burlington to promote all aspects of economic development and lead the revitalization of Downtown and the Waterfront. The Mayor‘s Gala has raised over $ 1 million dollars for the community foundation”.

Mike’s speech highlighted the Mayor’s clear vision and his great contribution to the quality of life for the citizens of Burlington.
